Owning the Dash - Teaching Children Financial Literacy Workshop
June 18, 2026, 9:00-11:30

Presenter: Stephanie Roden, Gifted Specialist, Hartselle City Schools
This workshop is perfect for elementary teachers and librarians

Join us for a workshop featuring interactive lessons in financial literacy. All attendees will receive a Financial Literacy Kit which includes a set of 6 children's books, lesson plans, and budgeting card game.
Owning the Dash books, games, and activities are designed to make financial literacy approachable, practical, and engaging.
By introducing real-world scenarios, we empower kids to think critically, build money confidence, and open the door to meaningful discussions with parents and educators.
Owning the Dash creates tools that:
  • Introduce essential financial lessons in fun, relatable ways
  • Encourage thoughtful decision-making through storytelling and hands-on activities
  • Equip kids with lifelong money skills they’ll use as they grow
Raise Confident, Money-Smart Kids

The K–5 Financial Literacy Kit helps children build confidence with saving, spending, patience, generosity, budgeting, and decision-making through stories, games, and hands-on learning kids genuinely enjoy.
