2023 Summer Institute: Personal Finance for High School Teachers
This workshop is limited to Alabama high school teachers. Each Alabama high school teacher will receive a $125 Amazon Ecard and a Virtual Economics 5.0 flash drive ($164.95 value). Completion of a pre/post survey on the day of the workshop is required. Tuesday, July 11, 8:30 – 2:30

Lesley Mace, Outreach Senior Advisor, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Birmingham Branch This personal finance workshop focuses on key aspects of financial literacy and provides a comprehensive overview of the Six Standards of Personal Finance. Through informative lectures, hands-on activities, and collaborative peer activities, teachers will delve into the essential topics of income and taxes, the distinction between saving and investing, responsible spending and budgeting, credit and debt management, and risk management and insurance. Participants will engage in real-life scenarios such as analyzing credit card offers to help students learn to sharpen their financial decision-making skills and learn to make informed financial choices. Teachers will also explore and use the Virtual Economics 5.0 flash drive which contains videos and over 80 Council on Economic Education publications.
