Stock Market Game: Virtual Learning, Real-World Connections
Sponsored by Rotary Club Alabama

Are you new to Stock Market Game or need a refresher? The SIFMA Foundation's Stock Market Game™ (SMG) gives students in grades 4-12 the chance to invest a hypothetical $100,000 in an online portfolio. Presented in a computer lab, this hands-on professional development is designed to help educators teach SMG as a student-focused, 10-week online simulation.

This SMG workshop helps teachers implement a problem-based learning and real-world teaching tool that also facilitates implementation of STEM guidelines in math and technology. Students make decisions as they work in teams to create and manage an online $100,000 portfolio of stocks and mutual funds.  Students engage in high levels of math, reading, writing, technology, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. NAEP study documents that students who use Stock Market Game have higher reading and math test scores.

Participants receive six hour CEU certificate.
There is no cost to register, lunch is provided, and a $125.00 substitute reimbursement is available.
SMG team scholarships are provided for teams in schools with at least 40% free/reduced participation.
For non-scholarship schools, workshop participants will receive 15 free teams.
