PURPOSE
These awards promote excellence in economic and personal finance education at the K-12 level by honoring inspirational teachers whose innovative teaching concepts improve and stimulate economic and personal finance understanding in and out of their classroom. We seek applicants who provide their students with understanding and skills to make informed and responsible decisions that they will carry with them as they grow into successful and productive adults. This award is given in honor of Whit King, Jr., for his lifetime support of economic and financial education in Alabama.

ELIGIBILITY
ONE WINNER IN EACH CATEGORY WILL RECEIVE

SELECTION CRITERIA
The review committee will look for applicants that:
- Exhibit innovative approaches to economic or financial education using multiple teaching approaches
- Challenge and encourage students to use economics or financial literacy as a mechanism for acquiring the skills necessary to succeed in their education and their future careers
- Encourage a collaborative environment where students are encouraged to use curiosity to see how their learning has real-world connections.
The award results shall be determined on an objective and non-discriminatory basis. In furtherance of the foregoing, ACEE employees and directors of ACEE and members of the immediate families (i.e., parent, child, sibling or spouse of any applicant or those living in the same household as any of the foregoing) of employees and directors of ACEE shall not be eligible to participate. Additionally, ACEE employs a non-discrimination policy in all of its activities and will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, or disability in determining the award winner.
