Easy to learn! Easy to teach! The Alabama Stock Market Game (SMG) is an exciting 10-week, on-line trading experience. Students begin with $100,000 and may purchase stocks, bonds, and mutual funds and make any number of trades with their available funds. The teams with the most valuable portfolios at the end of the 10 weeks win their division.

Who plays?
  • Grades 4-12
  • Public and private schools, home schooled, and non-profit youth organizations
  • Over 10,000 students in 2023-24 school year

Registration: Register for the SMG at www.stockmarketgame.org

Cost:  $15/team or $13.50/team if 5 or more teams. Need-based scholarships are available.

Divisions:  Grades 4-8 and 9-12 play in separate divisions; state divided into North and South.
​
Teams:  One to five students per paying team; three to five students per scholarship team.

Prizes:  Top teams receive drawstring backpacks. Amount of cash prizes subject to sponsorship.

Training and Curriculum materials:  All free and correlated to Alabama State standards. Lesson plans for every subject and grade level including:  Social studies,  Economics, Math, Language Arts, Business Education, Technology, Consumer Science, and Gifted
