What is the Stock Market Game? The Alabama Stock Market Game (SMG) is an exciting 10-week, on-line stock, mutual fund and bond trading experience. Students in grades 4-12 begin with a virtual $100,000 and purchase stocks, mutual funds and bonds listed on the NYSE, AMEX and NASDAQ exchanges. Teams with the most valuable portfolios at the end of the 10 weeks win their competitive division.
Who can play? Private and public school students and youth groups in grades 4-12 play in separate divisions, Lower (grades 4-8) and Upper (9-12). The State is divided into North and South Regions.
What does it cost? The Game is just $15 per team, with a 10% discount for 5 or more teams per teacher. Scholarships are available for schools with at least 50% free/reduced lunch participation. Online Scholarship Request
